We do so by aligning ourselves with manufacturers who source their materials from well managed forests. An ever increasing number of the products we market are FSC & PEFC Accredited and inline with our development, were actively engaged in ensuring more of our products satisfy the relevant criteria.
The Forest Stewardship Council
The FSC Principles and Criteria (P&C) set out best practices for forest management. FSC Regional or National Standards are developed by FSC working groups in multiple countries all over the world. Regional and national standards transfer the P&C to the specific conditions and context found in each country or region. FSC certification ensures that products come from well managed forests that provide environmental, economic and social benefits.
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification
The Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification (PEFC) is an international not-for-profit, non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting Sustainable Forest Management (SFM) through third-party independent certification. PEFC UK was established in 2000 and is the member of PEFC International. PEFC International is an umbrella organisation that endorses national forest certification systems developed through multi-stakeholder processes and tailored to local priorities and conditions.
PEFC works throughout the entire forest supply chain to promote good practice in the forest and to ensure that timber and non-timber products are produced with respect for the highest ecological, ethical and social standards. Customers and consumers are able to identify products from well sustained forests thanks to its Eco-label.
